Gulf 1927 Lockheed Vega 5B Airplane Die Cast Bank 1st in a Series Number One. 1992 Spec Cast. Complete. Never opened. Comes securely packaged. GULF COLLECTOR SERIES Limited Edition AIRPLANE BANK. #35006. This beautiful LOCKHEED VEGA 5B is the 1st in a series of Die Cast Airplane Banks for GULF Refining Company. The 1927 Lockheed Vega 5B was made famous by Amelia Earhart in a brave attempt to be the first woman to cross the Atlantic alone. The plane has not been played with and is in EXCELLENT condition---it has only been displayed in my office. It comes in the original box. HOWEVER, the box shows signs of "shelf-wear" and there is some paper residue on one side and the bottom. There is also some yellow staining on the bottom (see photos).
